San Jose Jewish Film Festival
Oct. 14-Nov. 14 at Camera 12
The 16th Annual San Jose Jewish Film Festival (SJJFF) screened at Camera 12 Cinema in downtown San Jose this past Oct. 14th through Nov. 14, as always featuring a host of award-winning films exploring the Jewish life and experience throughout the world.
This year's highlights included the powerful drama of redemption, Brother's Shadow, winner of the SJJFF Best Local Film and starring Judd Hirsch; Three Mothers, in which two wealthy Egyptian Jews are visited by King Farouk after the birth of their triplet daughters (Jerusalem Film Fest Jury Prize); Love To Hide, a Holocaust drama set in WWII Paris (SJJFF Silicon Valley Best Global Outreach Film); and the coming of age tale, Sweet Mud (Grand Jury Prize, Sundance Film Festival).
Veteran actor Judd Hirsch discussed his life and career, and met with guests at a gala champagne reception, in San Jose’s Fairmont Hotel, Sun. Aug. 14th, following a screening of his new film, Brother’s Shadow, at Camera 12.
