Cinema Club

Cinema Club's 12th Season is Underway

Signups for the Cinema Club's 2007-2008 season, which began Oct. 14th, are still being accepted, but available spots are filling up fast. For more info or to sign up for the upcoming season, go to our Club Membership page.

What Is The Camera Cinema Club?

The Camera Cinema Club is our way of accommodating filmgoers who want first opportunity to see memorable films combined with unique membership features:

FIRST, Club membership elevates you into "see it first " status! See specially selected films that distinguish themselves above others on the film festival circuits. Our members don't have to wait for the release to the general public. We also will screen first-rate films in search of a distributor.

SECOND, Club membership gives you the inside scoop! At each screening, there'll be a discussion led by leading film scholars, critics or Bay Area filmmakers. We know these individuals as articulate, thoughtful speakers. Whenever possible, the Club will bring in the director, actors or other principals from the film we are screening!

THIRD, the Camera Cinema Club members are gaining a reputation as key opinion makers for films released in the Bay Area. Through our film surveys, which are conducted at each event, the film's representatives gain valuable knowledge about the potential audience for their film. Our members' opinions and reactions may influence the marketing and publicity decisions of the film distributor. They may even affect the edited version of the film itself! In many cases, as a member of The Club you will get a chance to express your feelings directly to the filmmaker.

FOURTH, your Cinema Club card gives you added freebies (additonaly screenings and FREE movie events) and discounts. Show your card to local restaurants and merchants for savings (participating businesses include Pizza Chicago, La Pastaia, Hotel De Anza, Peggy Sue's Diner, The Camera Cafe, Recycle Bookstore, Nolo Press, and Willow Glen Books). At every Sunday Club event we will serve complimentary gourmet coffee, teas and breakfast breads while you meet and chat with other cineastes before the screening.
