Club Director | FAQs

See films first and discuss with filmmakers and talent. Anyone can join.

Club Director Tim Sika specially selects pre-released films that distinguish themselves above others on the film festival circuits, as well as first-rate films in search of a distributor. Prior to each screening, enjoy complimentary gourmet coffee, teas and a buffet while you meet and chat with other cineastes. And as members take their seats, moderators conduct a trivia contest and hand out prizes. No one knows what film to expect at each event, as the title is kept secret until it starts.

Following the film, there’s a discussion led by articulate, thoughtful film scholars and critics. When possible, we surprise members by bringing in the director, actors or other principals from the film we are screening, giving them a chance to ask questions and express their feelings to the filmmaker directly. In addition, film surveys are conducted after each event, where the film's representatives gain knowledge about our members' opinions and reactions, which may influence the marketing and publicity decisions of the film distributor, and may even affect the edited version of the film itself.

Screenings generally take place every third Sunday of the month, 10:30am at Camera 7, with a repeat screening at 2pm at Camera 12. E-mail reminders are sent the week prior to each event date.
